Today marks a significant milestone in international tourism collaboration with the establishment of the inaugural Malaysia-Russia Working Group on Tourism Cooperation, which Deputy Minister Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya Malaysia, YB Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan co-chaired alongside H.E. Mr Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

The event unfolded with a robust discussion on the Memorandum of Understanding, promising enhanced bilateral tourism ties. Insightful overviews of the tourism landscapes in both nations pave the way for shared strategies for international promotion and air connectivity, aiming to knit closer ties between Malaysia and Russia. Both countries also expressed intention to cooperate in promoting Muslim Friendly Tourism concepts and standards to promote mutual tourists exchange between Malaysia and Russia. The meeting concluded with the signing of the Agreed Minutes and a meaningful exchange of cultural souvenirs, serving as a powerful symbol of the enduring commitment and friendship between the two nations.
