IFMA Youth World Championships 2022: Spectacular Opening

Malaysia is proud to host the 2022 IFMA Muaythai Youth World Championships, officiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The championship welcome more than 3,500 athletes from 110 countries, providing a great opportunity for the youngsters to inspire and learn through values ingrained in Muaythai such as Honour, Tradition, Respect, Excellence and Fairplay.

Hosting international sporting events will further promote Malaysia as global sports hub. Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri was also presented the Honorary Golden Mongkon and Membership by the International Federation of Muaythai Associations in celebration of the Youth World Championships and the outstanding efforts made by the Malaysian government for the development and promotion of muaythai.

The special award was presented by the IFMA Honorary President Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan, the IFMA Director General Charissa Tynan, the IFMA Vice President and President of the Malaysian Muaythai federation Dato Muhd. Shahnaz Azmi, the representative of the Sport Authority of Thailand Mr Prarat Suwannamaytakorn and the National Sports Development Fund of Thailand Fund Manager Supranee Guptasa.
