Kuching, Sarawak Shines as Malaysia’s Preferred City for the IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition in 2028

Malaysia proudly emerged as the chosen host for the esteemed IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition in 2028, following an impressive bidding mission in Bordeaux, France led by The Honorable Datuk Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman bin Junaidi (Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Sarawak), along with the Malaysian Water Association.

The delegation received resounding support from MyCEB, BE Sarawak, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Malaysia, alongside numerous collaborators within the water industry. Malaysia’s selection as the host city marks a momentous milestone in the global water community, highlighting its dedication to advancing the field of water-related endeavors.

The IWA WWC&E 2028 is poised to attract 10,000 delegates from 80 countries, generating economic outcomes and legacies that will impact global stakeholders, professionals, and policymakers in the water industry, solidifying Sarawak’s role as a global hub in the water industry.
