The press conference of the 4th World Deaf Football Championships took place in Sunway Resort Hotel today, with the honorable presence of YB Adam Adli, Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports.
Scheduled to take place in Malaysia from 23 September to 7 October 2023, the 4th World Deaf Football Championships, held every four years, is a significant quadrennial event through the combined efforts of the Malaysian Deaf Sports Association (MSDeaf) and the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD).
This championship is set to host over 1690 participants from across the globe, contributing to a significant RM13.4 million in tourist expenditure.
Deaf athletes get a global stage to compete through a format that mirrors major football tournaments, complete with group stages, knockout rounds, and a grand finale.
Beyond the competition, the event’s objectives extend to empowering athletes, elevating Malaysia’s global presence, and fostering cross-cultural connections.
It’s worth noting that this event receives invaluable support from MyCEB, further underscoring the dedication to promoting inclusivity and excellence.
