Tourism Malaysia has formalised a strategic partnership with Green Empire Holding LLC through the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) to launch the Welcome Malaysia initiative, aimed at positioning Malaysia as a preferred destination for Mongolian travellers in support of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).
The MoC was signed by Madam Nuwal Fadhilah Ku Azmi, Senior Director of International Promotion Division (Asia/Africa), Tourism Malaysia and Mr. Batzaya Davaanyam, Partner of Green Empire Holding LLC. The signing was witnessed by Mr. Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, and Mr. Byambasuren Ayushjav, Chief Executive Officer of Green Empire Holding LLC.
The ceremony was also attended by Mrs. Tsetsegbal Ochirsuuri, Advisor to the Right Honourable Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, YBhg. Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, Mr. Lee Thai Hung, Deputy Director General (Promotion II) and media representatives from Mongolia alongside senior representatives from both organisations.
This collaboration will focus on joint marketing initiatives, destination promotion in Mongolia, tourism data exchange, and cultural engagement — strengthening long-term tourism ties between Malaysia and Mongolia.
As of January–November 2025, a total of 8,410 visitors from Mongolia travelled to Malaysia, surpassing the pre-COVID figure of 5,527. With this MoC between Tourism Malaysia and Green Empire, both parties aim to further boost arrivals from Mongolia.
