“Uzbekistan: Centre for Islamic Civilisation” Photo Exhibition

YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture launched the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition titled “Uzbekistan: Centre for Islamic Civilisation” at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

The exhibition, which will be held from 1 March till 27 April, is a collaboration between The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, The Centre of of Islamic Civilisation in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan.

This photo exhibition celebrates the history of Islam in Central Asia, more precisely in modern day Uzbekistan. It visually narrates the ongoing contributions made in the fields of science, education, and architecture among many others, from the beginning of the spread of Islam in Central Asia to the present day.

Also present at the event were H.E. Ravshan Usmanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotetntiary of Uzbekistan in Malaysia, YBrs. Dr. Christina Yeo, Undersecretary for International Relations (Culture) Division and YBrs. Mr. Firdavs Halimov, Deputy Director of the Center for Islamic Civilisation.
